Air Fryer Parmesan Crusted Chicken is crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, made with minimal oil for a healthier, delicious dinner option perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
- 2 large chicken breasts, halved lengthwise
- 3/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest (optional)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3–5 minutes
2. Slice chicken breasts in half lengthwise and pat dry
3. Prepare three bowls: flour with seasoning, whisked eggs, and breadcrumb-parmesan mixture
4. Dredge chicken in flour, dip in eggs, then coat with breadcrumb mixture
5. Lightly brush or spray chicken with olive oil
6. Place chicken in a single layer in air fryer basket
7. Cook for 10–12 minutes, then flip
8. Cook another 8–10 minutes until golden and internal temperature reaches 165°F
9. Remove and rest for 3–5 minutes
10. Garnish with parsley and lemon zest before serving
