Ingredients
- 1 medium green cabbage, chopped
- 3 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt to taste
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 cup chicken broth
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 tsp sugar (optional)
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 cup shredded carrots (optional)
- 2 tbsp chopped parsley
- 1 tsp lemon juice (optional)
Instructions
1. Chop cabbage, slice onion, and mince garlic.
2. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add olive oil and 2 tbsp butter until melted.
3. Add onions and cook for 4–5 minutes until soft and translucent.
4. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
5. Add cabbage and stir well to coat with butter mixture. Cook for 8–10 minutes.
6. Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and red pepper flakes if using.
7. Add shredded carrots if desired and mix well.
8. Pour in chicken broth and add remaining butter. Cover and cook for 5–7 minutes.
9. Remove lid and allow excess liquid to evaporate.
10. Add apple cider vinegar and lemon juice, then stir well.
11. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
12. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.
