Description
This easy apple fritter cake is soft, moist, and filled with tender apples and cinnamon swirls. Finished with a sweet glaze, it delivers bakery-style flavor without frying.
Ingredients
- 3 cups apples, peeled and diced
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 2–3 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
- Caramel sauce (optional)
Instructions
1. Peel, core, and dice apples, then toss with cinnamon and brown sugar.
2. In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
3. In another bowl, mix eggs, sugar, melted butter, milk, and vanilla.
4. Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
5. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon for the swirl.
6. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and pour half the batter.
7. Add half the apples and cinnamon sugar mixture.
8. Add remaining batter, apples, and swirl gently with a knife.
9. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 45–55 minutes until golden and set.
10. Mix powdered sugar and milk to create glaze.
11. Drizzle glaze over warm cake and optionally add caramel sauce.
12. Let rest 10–15 minutes before slicing and serving.
