Ingredients:
Meat & Sauce Layer:
- 1 lb lean ground beef or ground turkey
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes (undrained)
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- Salt & pepper to taste
Creamy Layer:
- 1 cup sour cream
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup green onions, chopped
Base & Topping:
- 8 oz wide egg noodles or pasta of choice
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (or a cheddar-mozzarella mix)

Directions:
- Cook the pasta: Boil noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
- Make the meat sauce: In a large skillet, cook ground beef (or turkey) with onion until meat is browned. Add garlic and cook for another minute. Stir in tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Prepare the creamy mixture: In a bowl, beat together sour cream, cream cheese, and green onions until smooth.
- Layer the casserole:
- Spread half of the noodles in a greased 9×13 baking dish.
- Add half of the meat sauce.
- Spread all of the creamy mixture over the sauce.
- Layer the remaining noodles and the rest of the meat sauce.
- Top & bake: Sprinkle cheese evenly over the top. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25–30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Serve hot with a side salad or crusty bread for a complete meal. 🥖🥗
